MERNA - The Maywood-Hayes Center track team took home both champion titles from the Anselmo-Merna Invite last Thursday. The men won with 133 points, and the ladies with 128, both teams beating the runners-up by ten or more points.

The Republican Plains Activity Conference has announced the 2023-2024 All-Conference Basketball Teams. In the Girls East Division, First Team selections included Stella Heapy of Medicine Valley, and Ann Bose and Adi Hunt, of Southern Valley.

CAMBRIDGE - Southern Valley, Southwest, and Cambridge competed at the Trojans relays last Saturday. On the girls' and boys' sides, Cambridge placed first as a team, Southwest placed second, and Southern Valley placed third.

Wolves hold off Elm Creek rally for first-round win

LINCOLN - A raucous third-quarter rally from seventh-seeded Elm Creek put a scare in second-seeded Maywood-Hayes Center during Wednesday’s Class D2 First Round game, but the Wolves righted the ship and held off the Buffaloes for a 5850 victory. The win pushed the Wolves into the State Basketball semifinals for the secondstraight year.
