CAMBRIDGE - In terms of possession, Cambridge had the better of it Friday night in its regular season finale against Hi-Line. But even though Cambridge ran 84 plays of offense to just 21 for the Bulls, it ws Hi-Line that made much more of its opportunties in a 34-6 victory that closed out a 7-1 regular season and an outright district championship.

Postseason heats up as fall sports seasons wind to a close

The fall sports regular seasons are all completed, save for a Thursday football tilt for Southwest and a home volleyball game for Southern Valley. Eleven local athletes will take part in Friday’s State Cross Country Meet in Kearney, while eightman football’s playoff qualifiers will begin their postseasons Thursday.

MCCOOK - It wasn’t always pretty and they didn’t play perfect, but the Southwest volleyball team didn’t need it to be. After coming from a set down to knock off Cambridge in Monday’s semifinals, the East’s top-seeded Roughriders swept past West top-seed Wallace to claim the school’s first-ever Republican Plains Activities Conference Championship Tuesday night.
