Roayne Alyce Hagan, 77, of Flower Mound, Texas passed away surrounded by loved ones on August 3, 2021 after battling several health issues. Roayne was born on August 7, 1943 to Shorty and Jean Sunquist in Holdrege, NE.

Norma Jean Wymore age 87 of Cambridge, NE passed away at the CHI Good Samaritan Hospital of Kearney, NE on August 26, 2021. She was born in Atwood, KS, to John and Vera (Rummel) Dirks. Norma attended and graduated from Atwood High School in 1951. She continued her education at the University of Nebraska receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in 1966, juggling 2 kids and married life. Later she received her Masters Degree in Education from the University of Nebraska. Norma was a member of the Phi Delta Kappa International and a life member of the Nebraska Alumni Association. Norma taught in elementary education K – 6 in Lincoln, NE and later was also a media specialist at Indianola. In 1952 Norma married Virgil Versch and to this union 2 children were born: Janet and James. Norma later married Harvey E. Minnick on August 26, 1982 and moved to Cambridge. He preceded her in death June 1, 1999. Later she wed Marvin Wymore on October 20, 2000, and he preceded her in death on December 17, 2012. Norma was active in the BPOE McCook Does Drove #3, where she was the current President. Norma was an active member of the First Congregational Church in Cambridge for many years. She was also involved in the American Legion Auxiliary, Auxiliary of Retired Officers Association, Poppy Day committee, Committee Chairman of Life Magazine. She was active with the Tri-Valley Health System as a volunteer at the front desk, gift shop and the Thrift Store. Norma loved to travel and with Harvey they went to the Panama Canal, Hawaii, Alaska and other states. Norma had an extensive collection of both angel statues and teddy bears that filled downstairs bedrooms. She loved to paint ceramics and many of her finished work are displayed in seasonal displays of her family. Norma was the always ring leader, calling friends to go out for meals and to play dominos or games, she loved to go to coffee downtown and catchup on the town news.

A Funeral Service for John M Hemelstrand will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska with Dave Thorell officiating. Interment will follow at the Highland Cemetery at Bertrand, Nebraska.

“JD” Jerry D Pfeiffer, age 76, of Beaver City, passed away on August 29, 2021 at the Beaver City Manor in Beaver City, Nebraska. He was born August 5, 1945 in Oxford, Nebraska to Elmer and Marie (Dunkhas) Pfeiffer. JD grew up and went to school in Oxford, Nebraska where he graduated in the class of 1963. He joined the United States Army in 1965 and served in Vietnam from 1966-1967 when he was discharged. After his service he worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad for 42 years. After retirement he farmed part-time, did woodworking projects, and spent most of his time at the coffee shop drinking Diet Dr. Pepper.

Joy A. Feeken, age 93 of Cambridge, passed away at the Beaver City Manor on Sunday, August 29, 2021. She was born to Theodore “Ted” and Eunice (Moore) Ohlson in Red Willow County near Bartley on the family homestead on January 15, 1928. Joy attended the Sunnyside school for part of her elementary schooling. She attended and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1945. Joy had passed her normal training classes and taught 6th grade reading during her senior year of high school. On the way to school in a horse and buggy, she would deliver milk and eggs. She taught in a country school one year before attending Doane College for 2 years.

Paul D. ten Bensel, age 92, of Cambridge, passed away at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. He was born on the family farm south of Cambridge, on October 18, 1928, to Henry J. and Millie (Thompson) ten Bensel. He attended and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1946. Paul was drafted into the United States Army and served with the 8th Corps of Engineers in the Korean Conflict for four years. He was Honorably Discharged. Paul was united in marriage to Joeann Forrester in North Platte, NE on August 10, 1952. She preceded him in death on June 2, 2011.

Janice “Jan” Koster, age 82, died peacefully with her children by her side on August 18, 2021, at Westfield Quality Care in Aurora, Nebraska. She was born in Cawker City, Kansas on April 5, 1939, to Henry and Susan (Thomas) Koster. Jani was the youngest of twelve siblings and she was very much loved and pampered by all.
