Carol Susan (Potter) Duis, 77, died February 6, 2024, surrounded by family at her home in Tacoma, WA. Born June 16, 1946, to Myrom “Hap” Potter and Catherine “Kay” (Trenchard) Potter and raised in Cambridge, NE. Carol attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she was a Regent Scholar, and spent over 30 years teaching in Chicago, IL and Oakdale, MN. She and husband John Robert “Bob” Duis lived on an 80-acre hobby farm in Somerset, WI, where they raised daughters Jennifer and Susan. After retiring, they moved to Haines, AK in 2006.

Naomi Ruth (Dettmer) Leising, age 91, of Blue Hill, Nebraska, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, February 10, 2024. She was born in Kensington, Kansas on July 5, 1932 to Karl Louis and Frieda Dorothee (Dunkhas) Dettmer.

Funeral Services were held on Monday, February 12, 2024, at 10:30 AM at the Christ’s Church at Lillian with Don Schauda officiating. Burial followed in the Gates Cemetery at Gates, NE.

LaVonne June (Aden) Banzhaf was born June 14, 1935 to Emil and Judith (Bratten) Aden at their home. LaVonne graduated from Gothenburg High School.

William “Bill” Lee Shearer, age 68, of Arapahoe, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska. He was born on May 14, 1955, at Norton, Kansas, to Leroy William and Merna Marie (Brand) Shearer.

Monte Gordon (Rusty) Pearson, oldest son of Gordon and Roma (Hemsath) Pearson, was born Oct. 4, 1939.

“Trish” Houser, age 72, passed away at the Bertrand Care Center in Bertrand, NE on January 20, 2024. She was born in Cozad on May 31, 1951, to David and Betty (Selk) Frew. Trish attended school in Cozad, graduating from Cozad High School in 1969.

James “Jim” J. Helm passed away on January 28, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones at Presbyterian St.

God called his faithful servant, Carl Rickey (Rick) Lilienkamp, home to be with Him on January 13, 2024, in Wayne, NE. Carl was born March 10, 1951, in Lockwood, Dade County, Missouri to Gilbert Martin and Elnora (Brinkhoff) Lilienkamp. He was baptized as a baby at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lockwood, MO, and confirmed on April 11, 1965, at Immanuel.
