Twila Marie Fults, age 87, of Beaver City, Nebraska passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Beaver City Manor, in Beaver City, Nebraska. She was born to Harry Lawrence and Marie Evelyn (Lomax) Martin on February 20, 1934 on the family farm southwest of Beaver City, Nebraska. Wendell Eugene Martin, age 69, of Pittsburg, Kansas, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022. He was born on June 19, 1952 in Norton Kansas to Leroy and Pearl (Teeters) Martin.

Sharlene Janet Schrock (age 90) of Arapahoe, NE passed away on February 13, 2022 at the Cambridge Hospital surrounded by her three daughters. She was born November 29, 1931 to Albert and Maude (Rhoten) Garrett at her Grandpa Rhoten’s house in Rexford, KS. Sharlene attended school in Rexford and graduated with the Class of 1949. She married Maurice Schrock in Rexford on June 19, 1949 and to this union six children were born.

Bernard Eugene Jones passed away January 9th, 2022 at his home, surrounded by family. Bernie was born March 9, 1942 to Zelma May (Kester) and Daniel B Jones in Cambridge, Nebraska. Bernie enjoyed spending his childhood days outside fishing, hunting, and building forts along the Medicine Creek with friends Richard Taylor and Eric Eisenhart. The men have few childhood memories without one another, considered one another brothers, and remained friends for life. Bernie and his family were survivors of the 1947 flood.

A Memorial Service for John W. Hawley will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at the Republican City Methodist Church in Republican City, Nebraska, with Pastor Seong Lee officiating. Dorothy M. Deterding, known affectionately to her family and friends as “Dotty”, passed away peacefully at her Longmont, Colorado home on Thursday, December 30, 2021.

Irene Rose Wasenius, age 77, of Oxford, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Kearney Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. Irene was born in Carrol, Nebraska on September 24, 1944, the oldest of eight children, to Herbert Ernest and Florence Emiline (Shufelt) Coughtry. She grew up in Northeastern Nebraska and graduated from Norfolk High School in 1962. After high school, Irene attended Norfolk Junior College for two years, graduated from Kearney State College with her teaching certificate, and then began teaching 2 grade at Eustis Elementary School. During her pursuit of higher education, Irene was united in marriage to Allen L. Whitney on August 22, 1965. Irene would mourn the loss of her first husband, who passed away on July 14, 1968.
