Enrollment Growth Reflects Teamwork and Student Success at NCTA

Body
The fall semester is underway at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture (NCTA) in Curtis, and I am proud to share good news about our enrollment numbers for 2025. The University of Nebraska system released its fall enrollment report last week, and NCTA recorded a 6 percent increase, bringing our campus enrollment to 213 degree-seeking students. When we include dual credit high school students, our total headcount is 232.

What Questions Do You Have?

Body
We have all heard it before. Before the end of the visit, the doctor will usually ask, “Do That is usually the precise moment that my mind goes completely blank. Every question I can think of seems silly or embarrassing. I know the doctor is busy so I don’t want to “bother” him/her by taking up too much of their time. I really do not want to look stupid or ignorant. So, I say nothing, smile and the doctor leaves the room shortly afterwards. As soon as that door closes, the flood gates open and all the questions I should have asked bubble to the surface. Now it feels too late to ask them. Sound familiar?

Federal Issues Forum Recap

Body
One of my biggest priorities as your Senator is hearing directly from Nebraskans. I continue to do what I did as Governor. I travel the state, talk to Nebraskans, and listen to their concerns. Last week, I welcomed hundreds of Nebraskans to my annual Federal Issues Forum at the State Fair in Grand Island. I’m grateful for everyone who attended.

Let’s bring an end to Monday holidays

Body
If I ever became President, there is no doubt what my first and priority objective would be. The Uniform Monday Holiday Act of 1968 has got to go. Signed by President Lyndon Johnson in 1968, the Uniform Monday Holiday Act was passed by Congress to shift Washington’s Birthday (now commonly known as President’s Day), Memorial Day and Columbus Day to Mondays annually instead of their fixed dates. It was done to create long weekends for workers and stimulate the economy. Labor Day was already on a Monday and almost 20 years later, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day was added as a federal holiday, also on a Monday.

Revving Nebraska’s Economic Engine by Investing in AI

Body
Earlier this month, I wrote about Nebraska’s chance to help lead America’s next chapter — from rebuilding our factories, to growing the bioeconomy, to boosting trade, new technology, and financial innovation. These are big picture ideas, but they all come down to one thing: playing to Nebraska’s strengths. That means making our communities places where people want to live and work, attracting a skilled workforce, and making smart investments that keep us competitive.

Delivering Wins for Nebraskans

Body
I’m proud of the work my team and I have done fighting for Nebraska this year. Whether it’s meeting with Nebraskans or helping you navigate the federal government, my goal remains the same. I’m working to make sure your voices are heard and your concerns are addressed. I always advocate for Nebraska’s priorities in Washington.

Stock Tank Algae

Body
Keeping clean water in front of animals during the summer is important. However, sunlight and warm temperatures can often lead to stock tanks overrun by algae. Let’s look at how we can address these issues.
