Our country is headed down a path of fiscal disaster. The Biden-Harris administration has created high prices through their reckless spending. It’s contributed to a national debt of over $35 trillion. That’s over $266,000 per household. It’s a second mortgage for Nebraska families. It’s raised grocery prices 22%. It’s slowed growth and stifled opportunity. Over the past two weeks, I’ve held a series of Federal Spending Briefings across Nebraska to highlight how I’m fighting this reckless spending.

Lung cancer is the second most common cancer (not counting skin cancer) in both men and women, only behind prostate in men and breast in women. Although it is the second most common, it remains the leading cause of cancer death in America. Approximately 1 in 5 cancer deaths a year are attributed to lung cancer. More Americans die every year of Lung cancer than colon, prostate and breast cancer combined.

It’s August. You might notice the crispness in the air or the slight yellowing of the leaves or maybe even the wafting fragrance of roasting meat.

This week, I signed into law a series of bills, including those that will provide funding for property tax relief. The main bill, LB34, includes caps on local spending authority for cities and counties. LB34 also frontloads the Property Income Tax Credit to property tax statements. This means Nebraskans will no longer loan the government money. They will see a direct decrease in taxes paid. That step alone will allow 45 percent of Nebraskans to receive a 20 percent tax savings that they have never realized. That’s a big win.

Biden-Harris leadership has led to high prices and open borders. Vice President Kamala Harris can’t run from her radical record. As Vice President, she’s cast more tiebreaking votes than anyone else in Senate history. These votes allowed the Democrats’ most radical and expensive plans to pass.

Our brain releases chemicals into our body that impact functions in our body, such as our mood. There are four chemicals that commonly support “feeling good,” and they are also known as “happiness chemicals.” These four chemicals are dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, and endorphins.

Recently, the Nebraska Legislature moved forward a modest property tax package. Originally, the intent of the revenue committee was to remove certain sales tax exemptions to broaden the base of the sales tax, gradually lower the levy from local government, and have the State take up a bigger burden of funding our schools.

Our country faces a safety, drug, and humanitarian catastrophe at the southern border. Yet the impacts of it are felt much closer to home. Since 2021, the Biden-Harris administration’s open borders policy has encouraged more than 10 million people to try to cross the border illegally.
