And we continue the rollercoaster ride in the daily temperatures. Shirtsleeves one day and parkas the next. One constant is the need for moisture. Sure hope this turns around before springtime. The prices for our corn, wheat and beans are great at this time. Anyone making any guesses on the prices when we have something to sell? Or that we do have something to sell if the prices are still up? Time will tell.

Lions Club 38th L District Governor John Rundel presented membership awards on Tuesday night to these four members of the Holbrook Lions Club (top to bottom) Corvin Stark for 50 years, Paul Wolfe for 15 years, Gale Wolfe for 15 years and Ray McKenney for 20 years. Not present were Dr. Tom Maline and Gerald Meyerle for 50 years, Greg Beck has 10 years and the late Bob Trosper would have had 10 years so accepting his award was his sister Kathy Trosper.

The Gosper County Senior Center is in full swing and has coffee drinkers in at 8:30, pool-players in the midmorning, exercise machines that are in motion, a puzzle on the table, domino game to get started after lunch and of course great noon dinners for you to enjoy with friendly neighbors. The staff will continue to make your visit here, either while participating in the activities or eating our noon meal, as positive and enjoyable as can be. Thanks for your support.

Applications for Conservation Incentive Contracts Being Accepted Now

Lincoln, Neb., Jan. 21, 2022 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is providing Nebraska’s farmers and ranchers financial and technical assistance to plan and implement conservation practices through Conservation Incentive Contracts. Agricultural producers have until March 11, 2022, to apply for 2022 funding.
