The descendants of Pioneer homesteaders Thomas and Catherine Andrews invite the public to join our celebration at two public events. The first event, held at the Cambridge Community Center on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. There will be an historic presentation of early Pioneer events experienced by the Andrews family. It is truly a remarkable story of perseverance and survival, in which Thomas and Catherine experienced nearly all the diffi culties that could befall upon early Furnas County settlers. Edison Neb., August 22, 2023– Ag Valley Co-op is pleased to announce a donation to the Oxford Food Pantry in collaboration with the Land O’ Lakes Foundation. The partnership produced a $5,000 donation to the Oxford Food Pantry. The donated funds will be used to provide food and other necessities to the less fortunate and help open the new location early this fall.

Aug. 28, 2023 (McCook, Neb.) — Weather permitting, a chip seal project will begin September 5 on US-6, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation. Chip seal is an application of an asphalt binder to a roadway surface followed by an aggregate.

Charles Harshfield of Minden, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Cozad Community Health Systems. He was 93 years of age.
