Nebraska corn farmers poised to plant 10.6 million acres in 2025

According to the March Prospective Plantings report released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Nebraska corn farmers are expected to plant 10.6 million acres of corn in 2025. If realized, this would translate to a significant economic investment of nearly $3.1 billion in the state’s economy over a two-month period, as calculated by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s crop budgets. This investment includes inputs such as seed, fuel and fertilizer, but excludes land costs, labor and equipment.

Maywood Youth Club held last meeting of 24/25

The Maywood Youth Club, which met at the Maywood Christian Church, concluded its program for this year on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. The theme this year was “We Can Trust In Jesus.” The weekly meetings included an opening prayer, snack time, singing, Bible story, class time review of the story, Bible verse memorization, games/crafts, daily awards, and closing prayer.

These kids enjoyed the Easter Egg hunt in Edison on Friday evening. They collected eggs in the park and then went to the Community Building for refreshments and games. The Easter Bunny was available for pictures. Everyone had a great time.
