Wolves end season with victory at Bertrand

Maywood/Hayes Center’s football team closed out its season with a bang, picking up a win at Bertrand 32-30. The game got off to a dire start with Bertrand returning the opening kickoff 55 yards for a touchdown then pinning MHC on its own one-yard line for its first offensive possession.

A funeral service for Larry L. Warner was held on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Reverend Kenton Birtell officiating. Interment followed at the Fridhem Cemetery in Funk, Nebraska, with Military Honors provided by the Martin-Horn American Legion Post #66 in conjunction with the United States Navy Funeral Honors Team.

Sweet Adelines perform in Arapahoe

(Right)Dancing to the Hits was the theme for this year’s Sweet Adelines Nebraska Pride Chorus show held in Arapahoe on October 18th at the Arapahoe High School. They performed songs from the 1950s through the 1980s. Guest performer (Below left) was Rascal Martinez, blending country, rockabilly and Latin sounds. (Below right) Elvis made an appearance during one of the Sweet Adeline songs.
