I was so very blessed by the Open House for my 90th birthday that my dear family hosted for me on January 18. It was so special to see friend, family members, and acquaitnences at my Open House. William Charles “Bill” Strackbein, age 55, of Overton, Nebraska passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at the Grand Island Regional Medical Center, Grand Island, Nebraska surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on May 16th, 1969, in Kansas and then was adopted by Gerald C and Ruth (Urban) Strackbein. He is the Oldest of 3 children.

Beaver City Council Reviews Zoning Maps

BEAVER CITY – The city council held their regular meeting on February 3, 2025, and conducted their business in under one hour. Immediately prior to the city council meeting, the planning commission met to discuss zoning issues.

Area students named to UNL Deans’ List

Body
More than 7,300 University of Nebraska–Lincoln students have been named to the Deans’ List for the fall semester of the 2024-25 academic year. Qualification for the Deans’ List varies among the eight undergraduate colleges and the Explore Center.

Frontier County Spelling Bee

At the Frontier County Spelling Bee held recently, nine Medicine Valley students qualified for the oral round! Zach T was the Champion and Zoe M was Runner-Up! Congrats to all of our spellers who represented Medicine Valley.
