Local Rotary Club hosting community and school presentations to prevent human trafficking and encourage online safety

Cambridge, Ne August 22, 2023 - Cambridge Rotary is bringing awareness and information regarding human trafficking to area schools and communities in an effort to raise awareness of the human trafficking industry, give students an understanding of warning signs, and provide tips for safe internet usage. Utilizing the expertise of Jim Weber with Global Connections International, Nebraska State Trooper Tim Flick, and Furnas County Sherrif Doug Brown, individuals will have the opportunity to learn how to avoid becoming a vulnerable target and receive information for reporting suspected predatory instances as well as where to seek assistance.

Oxford looking into LB840 designation

The Village of Oxford Board of Trustees once again discussed assistance with the Golden Generation Board during their regular meeting on Monday, August 14, 2023. Village Board Chairman Mike Minarik began by telling those present the board has started looking into an LB840 designation for the town.
