Body The Furnas County Headstart program visited the Holbrook Fire Department to learn about fire safety from Fire Chief Wes Hock and volunteer firefighter Tiffany Hock.

Body ARAPAHOE – The Arapahoe School Board held their regular board meeting on October 9, 2023. The board discussed several topics during the meeting that lasted almost two hours before adjourning and meeting in executive session.

Body The Southern Valley Board of Education approved the hire of Hannah Hofaker to direct band. Superintendent Bryce Jorgenson told the board she graduated from Holdrege and is currently student teaching at Lexington.

Body The Village of Oxford Board of Trustees approved contracting with 5 Rule Rural Planning during their meeting on Monday, October 9. The $28,000 contract was approved by the board upon approval of the village attorney and sign off of board chairman Mike Minarik.

Body The Oxford Fire Department was called to the 600 block of Central Street in Oxford for a house fire on Sunday, October 8th at just before 3:30 pm.
