The 2023 Frontier County Turtle Race was a huge success again this year. 36 youngsters came out to race their turtles on Friday, July 28. A huge crowd assembled to cheer on the turtles and the kids! The turtles were raced according to the grade the handlers are going into this fall. The race, medals, and championship trophy were sponsored by Tyron Lenz Construction. The medal winners for each of the divisions were as follows: Pre-K: Eliza Meyers; Kindergarten – 1st Grade: Daisy Mortensen; 2nd – 3rd Grade: Darin Meyers; 4th 5th Grade: Maddy Oberg; 6th – 8th Grade: Rileigh Crawford; 9th – 12th Grade: Chris Taylor. An overall championship race was held for all medal winning turtles. The 2023 Turtle Race Champion, beating all first place turtles, was raced by Eliza Meyers. Connie and Greg Hill of Cambridge recieved a Family Farm Pioneer Award on Thursday, July 13, for having their piece of land in the family for over 100 years. The land that Greg Hill owns has been in their family for 118 years, Connie Hill said.

One dead and two injured in Gosper County car crash

A car crash killed one and injured two North of Road 744 on Monday after their car rolled over, the Gosper County Sheriff ’s Office said. The Gosper County Coroner pronounced an unnamed, 12-year-old passenger dead on the scene, the Sheriff’s Office said.

BEAVER CITY –The city council voted to change the employee health care coverage plan during the July 17 meeting. As a member of the League of Municipalities headquartered is eligible to provide health insurance to employees in a __________________________ Under the new plan that is ___________________________ Blue Shield, the city will save $1,700 per month in premi____________________________ employees as the annual deductible goes down from $6,000 to $2,000 while increasing coverage to include dental, vision, and life insurance in addition to the standard health coverage.
