The Wilsonville Garden Club’s July meeting was hosted by Jim and Jane Foster of Bartley. The group was given a tour of the Fosters’ incredibly beautiful and lush flower gardens, pristine water feature, tree syrup production area, workshop, and flourishing vegetable gardens. All of the Fosters’ hard work shines although Jane gives Jim most of the credit declaring , “I only take care of the roses...”

Bartley Board meets on July 11

BARTLEY – The board of trustees conducted village business in just under 20 minutes on July 11. In addition to approving the minutes, claims, and financial reports from the previous meeting, the board voted to deny Gavin Harsh’s request for the Young Guns 20’ Shipping Container to be stored on village property.

Red Willow GOP to meet July 25

The Red Willow GOP (Republican Party Patriots) will meet on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at Bedore Barn/Marlene’s Kitchen. Meet/Greet at 6:30 pm followed by the business meeting at 7:00 pm. All area Republicans are welcome to attend as we continue our plan for restoring our state and country to conservative family values. The Red Willow County fair booth, located in the Merchant Building, will be present through, Sunday, July 23, 2023, 5-9:00 pm. at the fairgrounds in Mc-Cook, NE. Come by for a free pocket US Constitution and an opportunity to win a Patriotic T-Shirt.

Indianola Historical Society receives grant

The Nebraska State Historical Society Foundation has announced that the Indianola Historical Society is a 2023 recipient of their Statewide Grants Program. The Indianola Historical Society has received $750 to convert Ken Dow’s videos to CD or other sharable media.

Humanities Nebraska speaker to present program in Indianola

Speaker Sara Brandes Crook will present a program “Nebraska’s Winding Road to Statehood in the Footsteps of a Female Ssettler” on Saturday, August 12 at 1:30 p.m. at the Indianola Community Building/ VFW. This presentation is made possible by Humanities Nebraska, the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, and Indianola Historical Society as part of the HN Speakers Bureau.
