The Arapahoe Library and 4-H Youth Development Extension Educator, Elena Stout have collaborated hosting Mad Science sessions after school in March. Last week the lesson was on the Circulatory System. Participants investigated a real beef heart and built their own pumping heart models. Arapahoe student, Lael Rathbun, earned first place at the Nebraska National History Day contest in Lincoln on Saturday, April 9. His exhibit board, entitled "The Versailles Treaty: A Treaty that Ended and Started a War", will advance to the national contest this June in Washington, D.C. Lael completed his project under the direction of World History teacher Marcia Foley.
