Farm Bureau Members Set Policy on Key Issues, Elect State Leaders

KEARNEY, NEB. – Farmers and ranchers from across the state set Nebraska Farm Bureau policy for the coming year and elected leaders as part of the organization’s 104th Annual Meeting and Convention held Dec. 5-7 in Kearney. Delegates discussed a wide range of agricultural policy issues to provide direction for the organization.

By Guyla Mills Kennis McClelland has served as Furnas County Clerk longer than he has been married to his wife of 43 years. The longtime public servant was sworn into office on January 9, 1975, and got married to Nancy in 1979.

Time capsule discovered in former masonic lodge

BEAVER CITY - Although younger locals knew the recently demolished brick structure at 416 10 Street as the Re-Markable Store that was owned and operated by Tom and Dotty Biros, the building was originally constructed in 1931 as a Masonic Temple.
The Remarkable Store, a former masonic temple, was demolished in December downtown Beaver City.

ESU #11 Hires New Administrator

The Educational Service Unit #11 Board of Education has hired Mr. John Poppert to be their next administrator. He will replace Greg Barnes who is retiring June 30, 2022. Mr. Poppert will officially begin his duties at the ESU on July 1, 2022.
