10 years ago Third grade students were presented dictionaries of their own by the McCook Area Rotary Club. Among the businesses helping provide the dictionaries are Lords Hardware, Burton Well Drilling, and Schaffert Manufacturing and Sales.

Announcing the marriage of Garison and Kaitlyn Fisher. Beaver City native Garison, son of Treg and Beth Fisher married Wood River native Kaitlyn, daughter of Scott and Lori Thesenvitz on October 23, 2021. The new couple has made their home in Maywood Nebraska, where Garison enjoys working on a ranch and Kaitlyn is employed by Carthage Systems.

Columbus, Neb. Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) wholesale and retail customers will see no overall increase in electric rates for 2022, in addition to receiving the same production cost adjustment (PCA) credit as in 2021.

Old Fashion Christmas was held on December 9th from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. at Elwood businesses. The event was sponsored by the Elwood Chamber of Commerce.
