Mayor Steve Forbes presented retiring councilmen Lawrence Kentfield (four years) and Ernie Stalder (seven years) plaques for their years of service.

ESU 11 Coordinates World Language Concert for Area Students

Approximately 340 central Nebraska students gathered at The Tassel in Holdrege on Thursday, December 2, 2021 for a world language concert starring Edgar Rene from Puerto Rico. This concert is part of an international cultural experience for area high school students enrolled in Spanish classes. The ESU 11 Professional Development Department coordinated the event. Edgar sang numerous songs during the performance. During one particular song, students from Axtell High School performed a choreographed dance. Districts attending the concert included: Amherst, Kenesaw, Franklin, Sargent, Axtell, Eustis-Farnam, Holdrege, David City, Cozad, St. Cecelia High School, Adams Central, and Arapahoe.

Friday evening was a joy for many of the residents of Sunshine Village as they are so proud of all the merchants and enjoyed all the delicious treats during Merry and Bright festivities. The Nativity was inspiring and the tree was beautiful. They are so proud to live in this wonderful community.

Celebrating Arapahoe’s 150th Birthday during A Vintage Merry & Bright Friday Night

The Arapahoe Chamber of Commerce put together a fun evening of shopping for the holiday with several businesses being open on Friday night entertaining specials, refreshments and giveaways. There was plenty to do and see as there were sleigh rides, caroling, a live nativitypetting zoo, tree lighting ceremony, Santa mingling, chamber bucks drawings, open houses with lots of snacks and bargains to be had.
