The First Central Bank donated checking account packets to the Arapahoe Public School. Kristie Warner of First Central Bank helped with this activity. The Accounting I and Accounting II classes under the instruction of Lynn Crosley are learning life skills from this great educational tool. Jacob Moore is enjoying this learning activity.

Elwood Students attend County Government Day at Gosper County Courthouse

The Elwood High School Junior Class participated in the annual County Government Day on Wednesday, November 3 at the Gosper County Courthouse in Elwood. The Juniors spent the morning visiting each office where they learned about the duties of those offices. Following the tour, the class participated in a “County Feud Game” where they answered questions about the offices. Lunch was served to the officials and class at the Elwood American Legion Post by American Legion Auxiliary Unit #290. County Government Day is sponsored by Pfeiffer-Morgan American Legion Post #290 and the Auxiliary Unit #290.

Gov. Ricketts Seeks Applicants for State Emergency Response Commission

LINCOLN – Today, Governor Pete Ricketts, along with Nebraska’s State Emergency Response Commission, announced they are seeking new members to fill several vacancies. Commissioners are charged with overseeing compliance with the requirements of Title III of the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act of 1986 and to include the appointment and oversight of Local Emergency Planning Committees.
