Lebanon News

Getting news sent this week has been exasperating to say the least. Last week I had the column all typed and ready to send on Monday night. I decided to wait until the next morning to send it, thinking I might get more news. The next time it hit my mind was about the time the paper hit the street on Wednesday. So, I just saved it to send in this week. Well, I added this week’s news and sent it on its way. I don’t know what happened, but it just disappeared. Quinn’s request for retrial denied

Body
A motion to grant a new trial for an Oxford man convicted of 13 felonies in a sex trafficking investigation has been turned down in Furnas County District Court. Billy Quinn had moved for a new trial and in a telephonic hearing last week, his defense counsel argued that comments made during the course of the trial by Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse improperly prejudiced the jury’s deliberations and the verdict.
