Holbrook Carp Shoot A Bang

On Sunday, June 13, the 36th Annual Holbrook Carp Shoot took place. with the weigh in based in Holbrook. Twelve teams competed in the main adult division, and six children competed in the kid division. In the adult division, Brock and Dillion Mowry shot 316.4 lbs, earning themselves first place. Brock also shot the smallest carp of both the adult and kids division, earning the small carp award. Jake Whipple and Jesse Alexander shot 311.8 lbs for a second place finish. And finally, Dan and Matt Pearson finished 3rd shooting 144.5 lbs.

The Sons of The American Legion Squadron 343 held a regular monthly meeting June 30. The main new business was election of officers. Wendell Chaffin, Commander; John Baxter, Vice Commander, Tanner Deisley Adjutant; Arlan Leising, Finance Officer, Lee Carskadon, Chaplain; and Tanner Deisley, Sergeant-atarms. The next meeting will be July 29, at 8pm at the Ella Missing Center in Arapahoe, NE.

Ilene Collins and Virginia Cookson were guests of Larry and Carolyn tenBensel to celebrate the birthday of Wanda tenBensel with a delicious dinner at the farm. Virginia Cookson enjoyed a surprise visit Sunday from Sebastion and Emma Edwards with children Henry and Stella.
