25 Years Ago June 13, 1996 Many farms in the south of Beaver City saw hail damage from a short storm last week. Significant damage was reported in the Phil Babcock, Don Cass, Steve Shafer, Duane Bishop and Fred Warner neighborhood southwest of town, on the Rennecker (farmed by Dale Fults), Bill Weaver and Clay Kuersteiner (farmed by Ron Upson) farms south of town, and on the Corky Marble farm in the Precept area.

Sons of American Legion hold hamburger feed and ceremony for disposing worn out flags

The Sons of the American Legion hosted a free will hamburger feed with ice cream at the Arapahoe Park on Sunday, June 13th. After the meal at 7:00 p.m., they held a ceremony to dispose of worn flags. First they explained to those attending, what each fold means when folding a flag the correct way. A gun salute and taps was played before the flags were burned.
