Three-year old drowns at Johnson Lake

Body Last Wednesday at 5:46 pm, the Gosper County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a 3-year-old child riding on a floatation toy that had drifted out to the main area of Johnson Lake from the swim beach area in Gosper County.

COVID-19 Cases and Vaccinations Increasing in the area

Body Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department (SWN-PHD) and their partners are seeing a spike in COVID-19 cases and in the number of people wanting to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Vaccination rates across the health district have reached 40%.
As of July 19, Two Rivers Public Health Department had reported that 39 percent of Gosper County residents and 35 percent of Harlan County residents had been fully vaccinated.

Tri Valley receives $5,580 for emergency radios

Body Tri Valley Health System was a recipient of a $5,580 grant from the Nebraska Plains Healthcare Coalition (NPHCC) for the purchase of 20 handheld emergency radios. NPHCC is one of six coalitions across the state that assist healthcare entities with disaster planning and response.
