10 years ago After 26 years of having just one owner Medicine Creek Lodge, located on the west side of Harry Strunk Lake, has taken on new owners. Roger and Trish Houser, who have lived and owned the Lodge since 1985, have sold the business to Doug and Deb Breinig of Arapahoe.

The family of Carolyn O’Brien wishes to sincerely thank friends and relatives for their words of comfort, cards, flowers, food and support during the sad loss of our mother/grandmother/sister/aunt. A special thank you to the staff at the Beaver City Manor for their outstanding care of mom during her stay with them as well as the thoughtful care they provided to us during the last days of mom’s life. Deepest appreciation to Lockenour/Jones Funeral Chapel for all their help. To the members of the St. John the Baptist Altar Society, thank you for the delicious meal after the funeral service; it was great! Finally, a huge thank you to Father Kenneth Wehrs for the caring and support provided to mom in the past, all your help during these sad days and the beautiful funeral service. We truly appreciate these and any other acts of kindness we may have failed to mention.

Community hospital relaxing Visitation Policy

McCook, Nebraska—Community Hospital is allowing visitation for patients now that COVID-19 cases are lower and a significant percentage of the public has been vaccinated. Nearly a year has passed since Community Hospital restricted visitors due to the pandemic.
