The 2nd Annual Baby Crawling contest sponsored by Waypoint Bank was held Thursday, February 18 during half time of the girl’s subdistrict final basketball game between Southwest and Dundy County Stratton. There were five contestants competing (Above) L to R: Emery “Lightening Lou” Johnson; Kaitlyn “Katie Kat” Ruf; Wrenley “The Rocket” Helms; Judson “The Jet” White and “Wild Walker” Rich. The winner was (Right) “The Rocket” Wrenley Helms. All contestants received a Certificate of Participation & a Waypoint Bank piggy bank. The winner received a trophy & $50 in Chamber Bucks

Well, we survived the deep freeze. Temps this week are forecasted to be in the 50’s. That’s 70 degrees warmer than a week ago! Unreal! But, we are grateful for the moisture that did come with the cold. Don’t know just how much, but it was enough to make my yard messy.

Orleans - A fire broke out in downtown Orleans in the early morning hours of Sunday, February 21. The buildings on the corner of Orleans Ave and Maple St are now completely gone. This is directly across from the library on the west side.
