With the May 10 primary election fast approaching, area county clerk offices are already preparing so the election process goes smoothly. Here are some basic facts regarding this year’s election.

The Elwood Area Foundation hosted the 11th Annual Spring Gala on March 19, 2022. Patrons enjoyed a delicious meal catered by Slow Poke BBQ, participated in the silent and live auctions, and ended the evening with live music by The Innocence.

BEAVER CITY - Two men who had reached plea agreements in the Furnas County sex trafficking investigation were sentenced to prison in Furnas County District Court Monday. Dylan Brooks, 26, of Omaha, was sentenced to three to five years in prison each on one count of attempted sex trafficking of a minor and of first degree sexual assault of a child.

ARAPAHOE – The Arapahoe-Holbrook school board held their regular meeting on March 14, 2022. Among those in attendance was Benjamin Ellis, who currently teaches at Alma Elementary, and has accepted the position to serve as Elementary Principal at Arapahoe-Holbrook for the 2022-2023 school year.
