Earnest W. “Tater” Lange
Ernest Wade “Tater” Lange of Curtis, NE passed away August 2, 2026 at 62 years old, peacefully at home after a long battle of End Stage Renal Disease. He fought long and hard. He showed us all courage and bravery.
Wade was born November 30, 1963 at Cozad Nebraska to Ernest and Norma Lange. He graduated from Overton High School in 1982.
After school he worked various jobs including Overton Sand and gravel, and a Tire salesman, but he found his true passion in driving semi trucks.
He also helped out on his father in laws farm for many years.
Wade married the love of his life, Lynda on March 10, 2000 in Kearney, NE and welcomed a blended family of Joseph, Craig, Kyle, Andrew, Becky, Chase and Jessica.
He loved spending time with family.
He instilled his love of hunting, fishing and being outdoors to his children and grand children. Family always came first for Wade.
Whether it was traveling to see family, Boot camp graduations, football games, wrestling meets, basketball, baseball or just getting to together to watch the Huskers and the KC Chiefs. He often talked about their camping trip to Montana with Robin and Mike in spite of all the bears.
Wade is survived by his wife Lynda (Towne) of Curtis, Mother Norma Lange of Overton, Sister Robin Fullerton (Mike) of Curtis, Brother Eric Lange (Gina) of Overton, sister in law Leanna (Paul) Klempa of Lincoln. Sister in law Tenna Towne of Lincoln.
Children: Joseph Lange (Dusty) of Overton, Craig Lange of Kearney, Kyle Lange of Curtis, Andrew Lange (Layta) of Arapahoe, Chase Freeman (Misty) of Sumner, Jessica Haynes (Tre’) of Manor, Texas, Becky Grabowski (Troy) of Cairo. 24 Grandchildren; Kannon, Paecyn, Sawyer, Huntley, Colton, Zachary, Harper, Sawyer, Holliday, Skarlett, Choncey, Chayten, Chaynin, Landon, Brayden, Carson, Kreden, Tinsley, Maxton, Briggston, Toni, Ariel, Teagan, Aiden and 3 Great grandchildren; Raylan, Alannah, and Tobias. Many loved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Ernest Lange, baby brother Keith, father in law Leland Towne and Mother in law Lois Towne.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with the family present from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Blase-Wetzel- Strauser Memorial Chapel, 317 Center Ave, Curtis, NE 69025.
Graveside services were held (today) on Thursday, August 6, 2026, 11:00 AM at the Maywood Cemetery, 110 S Commercial, Maywood, NE.
