Longtime Wellfleet/ Maywood resident, Kurt Lee Remus passed away at Great Plains Health on September 3, 2023, at age 82. Kurt was born to Walter and Dortha Remus on the family ranch near Wellfleet on June 25, 1941.

Russell D Banzhaf, age 66, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Bryan West in Lincoln, NE. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandpa to his three grandsons who meant the world to him. He was born May 6, 1957, in Mc-Cook, NE to Darrel and Lucile (Harris) Banzhaf.

Duane James Fischer, age 65, passed away at his home on September 1, 2023. He was born to Richard and Elaine Fischer on September 2, 1957 in Curtis, Nebraska. Duane graduated from Medicine Valley High School in 1975 where he excelled in sports and held several school records. One of his favorite memories was of his dad coaching and playing catch throughout the day. After graduation, Duane attended carpentry school in North Platte, NE. He married Joyce Joylea Hazen on March 12, 1978. They celebrated their 45th anniversary this year. They had three children from this union; Rikki, Crystal and Shine.

Robert David Gross, age 86, of Holbrook, NE, passed away at the Central Nebraska Veterans Home in Kearney NE on September 2, 2023. He was born in Ellis, KS on August 29, 1937, to Marcellus and Bertha Gross.

Gerald “Jerry” Witte, age 99, of Cambridge, NE, passed away at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on August 30, 2023. He was born in Lawrence, NE on November 9, 1923, to Clement and Elisabeth (Ostdiek). The family moved to Cambridge when Jerry was seven years old.

Jolene Marie Adams Fischer, 64, of Grand Island, Nebraska passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. She was born on August 23, 1959, in Chicopee, Massachusetts, to Billy C and Rita Mae (Tingelhoff ) Adams.

Warner Lee Teel was born on August 23, 2023 in McCook, Nebraska. He passed away shortly after his birth, but not before knowing the deep love of his parents, Miranda and Tanner Teel and his brother and sister, Dierks and Vivian.

A funeral service for Nancy “Sue” Kerr will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at the Spirit of the Rock Church in Oxford, Nebraska with Pastor Paul Sowden officiating. Interment will follow at the Edison Cemetery, at Edison, Nebraska.

Larry “Newk” Keith Newcomb of Minden, Nebraska passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at the age of 58 at Kearney Regional Medical Center, Kearney, Nebraska. Funeral services was held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 28, 2023 at Minden United Methodist Church with the Rev. Peter Choi offi ciating. The service was streamed to the church’s Facebook and YouTube pages. Interment was held following the service at the Upland Cemetery.

Charles Harshfield of Minden, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Cozad Community Health Systems. He was 93 years of age.
