Body ELWOOD - The Hi-Line girls basketball team posted a pair of home wins last week, surviving Bertrand in overtime, 50-46, Tuesday before racing past Franklin Thursday, 54-15. Tuesday’s contest with the Vikings was tight throughout.

Body MCCOOK - The Southwest girls basketball team rolled through the semifinals of the Cattle Trail Tournament and earned a rematch with Maywood-Hayes Center in the final saturday. The Roughriders fell into a big hole but fought back before falling 48-35 to finish tournament runner-up.

Body ARAPAHOE - Both the Arapahoe girls and boys bowling teams took victories over Southern Valley Friday in a home duel for the Warriors. The Arapahoe girls dropped single games in rounds one and two, but swept the remainder of the points in a 19-2 victory.

Body CAMBRIDGE - In a marathon of a game, the Cambridge girls basketball team needed three overtimes to beat South Loup at home, 62-54, Friday. A defensive contest went to overtime tied at 36, then each team scored four in the first overtime to force a second.
