ARAPAHOE - With huge scoring outputs in the second and third quarters and stingy defense, the Cambridge girls basketball team rolled its way to victory at Arapahoe Tuesday night, 59-32. The trojans put up 20 points in the second to build a 29-13 lead at the half, then blew the game wide open with 21 more points in the third, taking a 50-23 lead to the fourth.

ARNOLD - The Southern Valley girls basketball team dropped a pair of hard-fought contests over the weekend to two of the best teams in the region. Friday, the Eagles led much of the game before Alma surged in front in the fourth quarter and took a 42-38 victory.

BENKELMAN - The Southwest girls basketball team garbbed an 18-point lead in th first half and coasted to the finish of a 16-point win at Dundy County-Stratton last week. The Roughriders posted the 56-40 win behind three players in double-figures as Caylin Barnett scored 15 and Asia Gallegos and Bryn Lampe each scored 11.

ARAPAHOE - Local teams combined for six individual champions and the Arapahoe erstling team finished runnerup at the Darrell Barnes Invitational Saturday in Arapahoe. The Warriors scored 107 team points at the meet as Bryan Conn (132), Tristian White (152) and Levi Kerner (285) each won individual titles and six total Warriors won medals.

Warriors qualify for State Duals

KEARNEY - The NSAA announced the pairings for the eight-team Class D State Duals Tournament in Kearney Saturday on Monday. Undefeated Arapahoe claimed the number four seed at the championship event and will take on fifth-seeded Pender (12-1) Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Southern Valley pulls away late from Southwest at RPAC

CAMBRIDGE - A big fourth-quarter push helped nudge the Southern Valley girls basketball team to a victory over Southwest to close out the RPAC Tournament for both teams Thursday. Trailing by two to the fourth quarter, the Eagles exploded for 22 of their 49 points in a 49-37 win that pushed them to 11-6 this season.
