The Maywood-Hayes Center dropped a trio f competitive games in the past week, twice leading through three quarters before the game slipped away. Last Tuesday, the Wolves led Maxwell 41-39 headed to the fourth, but were outscored 18-5 in the fourth of a 57-46 defeat.

The Bulls had led throughout and, though threy struggled to shake free from the Warriors, maintained a 39-30 advantage through three quarters.

GRAND ISLAND - the Arapahoe girls bowling team battled through bracket play and took the team title at the Grand Island Invite Saturday. The Warriors defeated Grand Island 3-1 in the championship match, rolling games of 171, 154, 132 and closing with a 193.

DUNNING - With six medalists, the Cambridge wrestling team finished second at the Sandhills/Thedford Invite Saturday. Dierks Sayer took recorded four first-period pins on his way to the title at 144 while Carter Hanes (150) and Charlie Houser (126) each finished second.

PAXTON - The Maywood-Hayes Center boys basketball team continued to come up clutch in close contests last week, holding off a Hi-Line rally Tuesday in a 53-45 victory before rallying from a 14-point deficit on the road for a 53-50 win over Paxton Friday.
