The Maywood-Hayes Center dropped a trio f competitive games in the past week, twice leading through three quarters before the game slipped away. Last Tuesday, the Wolves led Maxwell 41-39 headed to the fourth, but were outscored 18-5 in the fourth of a 57-46 defeat.

The Hi-Line boys wrestling team medaled three at the Elm Creek Invite, led by third place finishes from Simon Scharf at 175 pounds and Tucker Viter at 285 pounds. Teammate Grady Schutz finished fourth at 150 pounds.

EUSTIS - Arapahoe’s comeback attempt from a nine-point deficit came up short and the Hi-Line boys basketball team held on for a 50-46 win over the Warriors Friday night. The Bulls had led throughout and, though threy struggled to shake free from the Warriors, maintained a 39-30 advantage through three quarters.

IMPERIAL - With four tournaments in eight days, the Southwest girls wrestling team claimed team titles at Perkins County, Elm Creek and Chase County as they count down the final few weeks before districts.

SOUTHERN VALLEY - In a battle is two of the top teams in the RPAC, the Southwest and Southern Valley girls basketball teams provided a preview of what’s to come in the RPAC Tournament this next week.

GRAND ISLAND - the Arapahoe girls bowling team battled through bracket play and took the team title at the Grand Island Invite Saturday. The Warriors defeated Grand Island 3-1 in the championship match, rolling games of 171, 154, 132 and closing with a 193.

DUNNING - With six medalists, the Cambridge wrestling team finished second at the Sandhills/Thedford Invite Saturday. Dierks Sayer took recorded four first-period pins on his way to the title at 144 while Carter Hanes (150) and Charlie Houser (126) each finished second.

ELM CREEK - The Southern Valley wrestling teams had strong days at the Elm Creek Invite Friday as the boys team took secon din the 17-team field while the girls finished third out of 19 teams. Both teams scored over 100 points.

KEARNEY - After consecutive blowout wins against Hi-Line and Paxton, the Maywood-Hayes Center girls basketball team saw its eightgame win streak halted by a 58-42 defeat to Shelton at the Girls Basketball Showcase in Kearney Saturday.

PAXTON - The Maywood-Hayes Center boys basketball team continued to come up clutch in close contests last week, holding off a Hi-Line rally Tuesday in a 53-45 victory before rallying from a 14-point deficit on the road for a 53-50 win over Paxton Friday.
