LaVerne Merle Maret, 81, passed away May 27, 2024 at the Elwood Care Center. He was born May 8, 1943, in Imperial, Nebraska to Merle and Zelda (Hinton) Maret. LaVerne graduated from Stockville High School in 1962. He met his wife, Georgia Arrington on the Hinton farm when they were just teenagers. The couple eloped to Oberlin, Kansas in 1963 and were later married at the Christian Church in Bartley, Nebraska.
