She was born on June 24th, 1928, the oldest of 7 on a rural farm southeast of Wilsonville, Nebraska to Gerald Neil and Thelma Marie (Balderston) Ankenman.

Rodger “Shawn” Allen Alberts was born on January 23, 1952 in Greeley, CO to parents Lewis and Arleen Alberts. Shawn grew up with his older sister Geraldine, two older brothers, Bob and Mike and one younger brother Ted. Shawn attended Lincoln Elementary, Byers Junior High and South High School in Denver, Colorado.
