Alice Faye (Macy) Kasson was born September 12, 1941, to Rex and Estel (Hoppas) Macy. She was raised with her older sister, Phyllis, 6 miles south of Oberlin, KS until 1949, when her family moved to Danbury, Nebraska where her father farmed 3 miles northeast of town. She graduated at age 16 with Danbury High School’s last senior class in 1958, and attended McCook Community College, earning an associate degree in Elementary Education. By age 18 she was teaching school in Paxton, NE.

August 13, 1933 – December 28, 2023 Colleen Joyce Bose, 90, passed away on December 28, 2023 at the Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Born on August 13, 1933, in Wilsonville, Nebraska, Colleen was the daughter of Robert “Chub” Peter and Irma Jane (Grotfeld) Dillan.

Sheila Lee Colson was born on June 23, 1949 in Hays, Kansas to Roy G. and Virginia (Loreg) Hageman. She graduated from Cambridge High School and went on to further her education by graduating from the Barns School of Business in Denver, Colorado.

Ivan Newton “Newt” Eby, 80, passed peacefully on Friday, April 19, 2024, in Gulf Breeze, FL. He was born November 8, 1943, in Oxford, NE, oldest of three children to Ira Newton Eby and Betty Lou (Snyder-Mathis) Eby.

Sandra “Sandy” Lynn Franzen, 76, of Kearney, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Brookstone Gardens in Kearney. She was born June 15, 1947, in Cozad, Nebraska, to Thearle “Parkie” and Fern Elizabeth “Betty” (Chapin) Parkhurst.

Carla Jean (Clarine) Quinn was born October 30, 1941, in Oxford, Nebraska to Maxwell Earl and May (Loper) Clarine. She grew up in Oxford and graduated high school in 1959.

Joyce Annette (Kohlmeier) Trosper, age 75, passed away on May 12, 2024, at the Tri-Valley Hospital in Cambridge, Nebraska after a short, hard-fought battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She was surrounded by her family who will miss her dearly.

Wavalee Couse was born on the family farm near Bell Plain, Kansas on Feb 3, 1935 to Clara Beulah (Keen) and Leslie Robert Howell. She died at Community Hospital May 10, 2024 surrounded by her children Her family moved during the depression to Brush, Colorado and finally settled in McCook, Nebraska. Wavalee graduated from McCook High School with the Class of 1953.

Shirley Carolyn Zink Jurgens Shirley was born in Medford, Massachusetts, on October 13, 1925, and passed peacefully on April 24, 2024. She attended elementary school through the sixth grade in Akron, Ohio, moving to Altadena, California where she completed high school, followed by Pasadena City College.
