Body SOUTHERN VALLEY - With an opportunistic offense and a defense that dominated the final two quarters, the Southern Valley football team grabbed its first win of the season Friday, taking down Elm Creek, 28-14, to improve to 1-3 this season.

Body ARAPAHOE - At Thursday’s triangular, the Arapahoe and Southern Valley volleyball teams battled it out with each other and also with Bertrand.

Body The Arapahoe junior varsity football team took on the Hi-Line Bulls on Monday night, the 20th. The Bulls came out strong, scoring on their first 3 possessions to take an early 20 point lead.

Body ARAPAHOE - The Alma/ Southern Valley girls finished second and the Hi-Line girls and Southwest boys finished third at the Arapahoe cross country invite Thursday. ASV’s Tayley Becker took third individually to help the Saints to a runner-up finish at the meet.

Body GOTHENBURG - The Cambridge girls golf team took eighth and Southwest was 10th at the Gothenburg Girls Golf Invite last week. The Trojans’ Macy Jones led the Trojans with a fifthplace finish after a round of 86.

Body Emma Joppa threw a shutout to lead Southern Valley/Alma softball team past Centura-Central Valley 5-0 on Tuesday. The Saints tallied three runs in the sixth inning.

Body MAXWELL - The Hi-Line football team ran right, they ran left and they ran up the middle. Everywhere they ran, they found space as they rushed their way to a 54-12 victory at Maxwell Friday night.

Body The Hi-Line volleyball team dropped both ends of a triangular at Loomis Thursday then finished 1-2 at the North Platte Community College Tournament Saturday as the team advanced to 5-10 this season.

Body BLADEN - Another tall challenge awaited the Southwest football team on Friday and the Roughriders found some success, but not on the scoreboard as hosting Silver Lake rushed to a 63-20 victory.

Body Arapahoe traveled to Elwood onThursday, September 19th to take on the Hi-Line Bulls. The Warriors got off to a fast start, sparked by a 41 yard kick return by Carl Nordine.
