Cambridge tops Southern Valley at triangular

Body SOUTHERN VALLEY- Last Thursday the Eagles of Southern Valley hosted a triangular with Hoxie, KS and Cambridge. In the first matchup, Southern Valley took down Hoxie in two sets with the scores reading 25-23 and 25-21.

Cambridge cruises past Maxwell

Body MAXWELL - The Cambridge football team rushed for over 250 yards and rolled away for a 40-16 win at Maxwell Friday, picking up its fourth win of the season while improving to 4-2.

Body BENKELMAN - To cap a busy stretch of seven matches in five days, the Cambridge volleyball team swept past Medicine Valley and Dundy County-Stratton before dealing just the second loss of the season to Maywood-Hayes Center Saturday at the Dundy County-Stratton Quad.

Story time at Orleans Library

Body The C.B. Preston Memorial LIbrary in Orleans is offering a weekly story hour beginning in October. The story hour is every Tuesday from 10 - 11 am and is open to preschool age children. There will be games, crafts and stories.

Area teams dominate at MHC Invite

Body HAYES CENTER - Local teams dominated the field at the Maywood-Hayes Center cross country invite in Hayes Center Thursday. Southwest took the team title in the boys’ race and Arapahoe finished runner-up while Cambridge was third.
Southwest’s Carter Van Pelt and Arapahoe’s Campbell Schutz finished fourth and fifth individually at the MHC Invite.

Body SUTHERLAND - The Southwest volleyball team domin ated the first two rounds of the Sutherland Invite Saturday, then ran a bit short in the final to finish runner-up at its second-consecutive invite.

Warriors roll to 5-0 with win at Elm Creek

Body ELM CREEK - The Arapahoe football team continued its recent surge of momentum with a dominant performance at Elm Creek Friday. The Warriors scored 22 points in the opening quarter and built a 35-6 lead at the half before finishing a 49-28 victory to improve to 5-0 this season.
