ARAPAHOE - The Alma/ Southern Valley girls finished second and the Hi-Line girls and Southwest boys finished third at the Arapahoe cross country invite Thursday. ASV’s Tayley Becker took third individually to help the Saints to a runner-up finish at the meet.

Bulls win one in difficult stretch of games

The Hi-Line volleyball team dropped both ends of a triangular at Loomis Thursday then finished 1-2 at the North Platte Community College Tournament Saturday as the team advanced to 5-10 this season. At the tournament Saturday, the Bulls took down Paxton in straight sets, 25-18, 25-11.

Southwest football falls at Silver Lake

BLADEN - Another tall challenge awaited the Southwest football team on Friday and the Roughriders found some success, but not on the scoreboard as hosting Silver Lake rushed to a 63-20 victory. The Mustangs improved to 3-0 behind 349 yards rushing and 35 first quarter points in building a 35-6 lead.

Arapahoe junior high downs Hi-Line

Arapahoe traveled to Elwood onThursday, September 19th to take on the Hi-Line Bulls. The Warriors got off to a fast start, sparked by a 41 yard kick return by Carl Nordine. Kade Fisher finished off the drive when he ran into the endzone from 11 yards out to put the Warriors up 6-0. The Bulls turned it over on downs on their first possession which set up the Warriors for another score. This time, Fisher found Branson Tejcka for a 10 yards pass for the score to put the Warriors up 12-0. The Warriors forced a Bull punt to finish up the first quarter. To start the second, Hayden Sich broke free up the middle for a 24 yard touchdown run to put the Warriors up 18-0. The Bulls found some success on their next possession scoring from 2 yards out to cut the Warrior lead to 18-6. The Warriors next possession again was finished by Fisher running it in from 11 yards out to put the Warriors up 24-6 with a minute left before half. The Warriors held Hi-Line to a three and out and got the ball back with 30 seconds left. On a reverse, Nordine ran 31 yards to put the Warriors up 30-6 at half. Fisher finished off the half intercepting a Bull pass.

Arapahoe smacks Blue Hill, 58-20

BLUE HILL - In a head fake of sorts, the Arapahoe football team threw the ball on the first play of Friday’s contest at Blue Hill. The play went for a 65- yard touchdown from Tristian White to Colton Carlson to put the Warriors in front 8-0.
