CAMBRIDGE - While Hitchcock County pushed both teams at times, Tuesday’s volleyball triangular in Cambridge centered around a main event between the Trojans and Southwest Roughriders. Both teams entered the night rated second in their class in NSAA power points and each was ranked in the top three of Class D1 and Class D2 in different statewide ratings.

ALMA - Midway through Friday night’s contest at Alma, the Hi-Line football team found itself in a place it hadnt been this season - behind at halftime. Alma scored twice in the second quarter to lead the Bulls 18-14 at the break.

The Maywood/Hayes Center football team fell to 2-5 on the season after a 0-34 loss at Bertrand Friday. Injuries stymied the Wolves’ offense in the game.

BAYARD - The Cambridge football team had a plan to attack and win at Bayard Friday night. No part if that plan included falling into a 20-0 hole early in the second quarter, but that’s what happened.

Southwest’s football team ran its record to 4-2 Friday night with a 54-20 win at Brady. The Roughriders quickly took control of the game with a 28-point first quarter.

The Medicine Valley football team continues to search for a win after a 12-54 loss to Loomis. At 3-4, Loomis is right on the edge of a D2 playoff berth.

HEBRON - The Southern Valley volleyball team went 2-2 at the Thayer Central Invite, earning victories over Central Valley and Omaha Christian while dropping hard-fought matches to both Milford and Thayer Central.

ARAPAHOE - On Homecoming night, the Arapahoe football team delighted the crowd with an explosive start and rolled to a 54-8 victory over visiting Southern Valley. The Warriors popped off for three scores and a 24-0 lead after a quarter.

The Lady Trojans golf team had their district meet last Wednesday, October 4th, at Indianhead Golf Course in Grand Island. While personal records were set, the Lady Trojans did not have a state qualifier this year.

The Maywood-Hayes Center volleyball team recovered from a rough week and took wins against the Brady Eagles and the Medicine Valley Raiders last Tuesday night. Maywood-Hayes Center had defeated Brady just one week earlier.
