ARAPAHOE - The Arapahoe volleyball team capped its regular season and senior night with a victory, taking down Northern Valley of Almena, Kansas in four sets last Thurday. The warriors rolled through the first two sets, winning 25-16 and 25-15 before the Huskies rallied late in the third to win 26-24 and extend the match to a fourth set.

The Hi-Line Cross Country program had a packed week last week. The highschool teams competed at the Franklin Thursday, and the junior high teams competed at state in last Saturday.

ELWOOD - Speed kills, especially when it’s running down hill. The Hi-Line football team has made big plays a specialty all season, beating teams around the edge a variety of ways.

CURTIS - The Medicine Valley volleyball team had one of its best nights of the season Thursday, sweeping past both Arapahoe and Paxton in a home triangular. Arapahoe dropped a pair of hard-foght matches to complete an 0-2 night.

CAMBRIDGE - In a challenging triangular that featured three teams coming in with winning records, host Cambridge took down both Hoxie (25-3) and Maywood-Hayes Center (12-9) in straight sets, improving to 16-3 on the season.

GOTHENBURG - After a scoreless first inning, the wheels came off for Southern Valley/Alma in the second as second-seeded Cozad scored eight runs to blow open what would be an 11-0 victory in four innings, eliminating the Saints from the subdistrict tournament and ending their season at 9-17.

The NSAA has released this year’s Believers and Achievers local school winners! Believers and Achievers is a state program that recognizes Nebraska’s future leaders. The program acknowledges students for excellence in academics, participation in NSAA activities, and involvement in their school and community.

The Southwest volleyball team won three of four matches last week, making quick work of both St. Francis and Decatur Community of Kansas in sweeps Tuesday before splitting with Alma and Overton on Thursday.

ELWOOD - In a back-andforth match that became errorriddled at times, the Arapahoe volleyball team escaped Elwood with a five-set victory over Hi-Line Friday. The Warriors came back from a set down to post a 2518, 23-25, 19-25, 25-14, 15-12 win.

The Hi-Line Cross Country teams competed at the Fort Kearney Conference last Friday. The boys team placed 2nd and the girls team placed 3rd, resulting in a very successful day for the Bulls.
