Terry L. Smith Sr., age 69, of Holbrook, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at CHI St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was born on December 24, 1950 at McCook, Nebraska to Harry and Mary Joyce (Jacobson) Smith.

Donald Ewald Wendland, age 80, Carol Jean Wendland, age 76, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2020 and Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Cambridge Hospital, Cambridge Nebraska. Memorial Services will be held Friday, October 16, 2020 at 10:30 a.m.

KEARNEY - At one of the larger meets in the State other than the official State Meet, Southwest’s Jake O’Dea nearly took down the entire field of Class D runners at the UNK Invite last Monday. O’Dea finished a second back of the champion - Mullen’s Trevor Kuncl - and second in a field of nearly 220 runners made up of Class D competition.

GRAND ISLAND - Cambridge’s Macy Jones finished eighth at the District C-4 Golf Tournament in Grand Island Tuesday to qualify individually for the Class C State Golf Tournament. Jones shot a round of 91 to finish comfortably in a qualifying spot by four strokes.
