Residents and nonresidents may apply for a draw status Nebraska deer permit in mule deer conservation areas June 2-13. Residents may purchase a preference point or apply for one of the following deer permits: Platte Any Deer and Frenchman Any Deer.

KEARNEY – The University of Nebraska at Kearney announced students who earned a place on the dean’s list for the spring 2025 semester. Students who are on the dean’s list must have completed 12 credit hours or more of classes with a 3.5 grade-point average or better on a 4.0 scale.

June 2, 2025 (McCook, Neb.) — Weather permitting, a mill and fill project will begin June 11 on U.S. Highway 136 (US-136), according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation. Mill and fill is a process of removing deteriorated asphalt in preparation of placing an asphaltic patch to improve the roadway surface and drivability.

David Marsh will present a program, Music of the Germanic Lands, on June 14, 2025, at 11:00am, in the City Park (110 E Allison) at Eustis as part of the town’s Wurst Tag Celebration! If the weather does not provide for an outdoor celebration, the event will be held at the Senior Center on Main Street.

The Mid-Plains Community College Board of Governors approved a plan to offer free tuition for dual credit and early entry classes for the 2025-26 academic year. “MPCC is proud to offer high-quality coursework to high school students inside and outside our service area,” said Kayla Thurman Director of Early Entry and Program Development.

Hastings College has announced the Dean’s List for its Spring 2025 semester. For the semester, 339 students from 19 states and eight countries were named to the Dean’s List.

Fort Hays State University recognized approximately 1,691 graduates during its Spring 2025 commencement ceremonies Friday and Saturday, May 16-17, at Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays. Graduates who requested privacy are included in the count but omitted from this listing.
