Cambridge City Council met in regular session on Monday, August 5, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. Council Member Mike Harris was absent from the meeting. After the Pledge of Allegiance and the Open Meetings Law announcement, the Council approved the Consent Agenda which included the approval of the July 15, 2024, City Council meeting minutes.

2024 Frontier County Turtle Race

The 2024 Frontier County Fair Turtle Race was held Friday, July 26 at 6:00 pm. The race was exciting and competitors brought some fast turtles to try their luck at winning a medal! 28 kids, ages Pre-K through high school, raced turtles in the shade at the fairgrounds in Stockville.

Robb Ranch receives150-year Award

ELWOOD - The Robb Ranch, homesteaded in February 1874 by William Kyle Robb, received the 150-Year Heritage Farm Family Award at the Gosper County Fair last Saturday. Robert Gillard, the grandfather of founder William Robb, lived on the ranch land before it was officially dubbed the Robb Ranch.

Dickmeyer family receives Aksarben Award

ELWOOD - The Dickmeyer family of southern Gosper County received the 2024 Aksarben Pioneer Farm Family Award at the Gosper County Fair last Saturday. Gary and Claire Dickmeyer are the current owners of the original Dickmeyer settlement, which has been in the family for one hundred years. In his acceptance speech, Gary spoke on the history of the Dickmeyer family farm.

108th Eustis Fair & Corn Show

EUSTIS - The 2024 Eustis Fair & Corn Show marks the 108th annual event. Fair week starts on Sunday, August 4, with the Blue Rock Shoot hosted by the Eustis Gun Club at 11 AM.

Cambridge Lions donates $500

The Cambridge Lions made a $500 donation to the L2 for Kids Program, which provides new back to school clothing for underprivileged kids in Cambridge and surrounding communities. Shown accepting the donation for L2 for Kids is Cindy Howerter and providing the check is Cambridge Lions President Kathryn Heitmann. We appreciate our community for supporting Lions projects so we can support programs like this! Lions meet the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month at the Cross Creek Golf Course clubhouse at 6pm. Join us and make a difference in our community!

Cambridge City Wide Garage Sales

The City Wide Garage sales held on Saturday, July 27 were a big success! We had 22 sales registered and several more people just set up their sale that day. People reported they had good traffic and lots of people were out and about. Mark your calendars for next year on the last Saturday in July! Cambridge Lions are happy to coordinate this event for our community.
