(06/10/2024)-- South Dakota State University announces Lexie Sines of Cambridge, Nebraska, (69022) has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2024 semester. Sines is a student in SDSU’s College of Nursing.

The Farnam Methodist Church Vacation Bible School will be held June 23-27. All children and youth from ages 3 to those who have finished 6th grade are welcome to come to VBS for exciting lessons, crafts, games, snacks and music.

We would like to give our thanks and appreciation to the Curtis Community for awarding Kelly Kotschwar with the Posthumous Citizen Award at the Community Center Banquet June 7, 2024. Two sisters are working on a dream to bring a basketball court to the downtown area of Beaver City. Called Beaver Court it will be located where the Old Mason Lodge and Remarkable Store once stood. The building had been structurally unsound for some time and was demolished a few years ago.

Last year, Tri Valley Health System began working on expanding Cambridge's local farmer's market. Marketing Director Jolene Miller and Registered Dietician Tonya Koeppen decided this would fulfill the not-for-profit hospital's Community Health Needs Assessment.

Last Tuesday, June 3rd, a mountain lion sighting in Beaver City was reported to the Furnas County Sheriff’s office. This first report came from a credible source, a big game hunter who can readily identify mountain lions and other wild game.
