Program Honor Students Recipients are selected from each academic program for good academic standing, outstanding ability in their major area of study, and strong leadership and citizenship skills.

Area students graduate from CCC Grand Island

(Grand Island, Neb.) – Central Community College-Grand Island honored about 380 graduate candidates May 10 during its 38th annual commencement ceremony. Thirty-six of the degree candidates achieved an accumulative grade-point average of 3.75 or higher during their college career and graduated with honors.

Area students graduate from CCC Hastings

(Hastings, Neb.) – Central Community College-Hastings honored about 345 graduate candidates May 10 during its 57th annual commencement ceremony. Fifty-one of the degree candidates achieved an accumulative grade-point average of 3.75 or higher during their college career and graduated with honors.

Furnas County to participate in Make It Click Enforcement campaign

The Furnas County Sheriff ’s Office, with funding from the Nebraska Department of Transportation/Highway Safety Office, will be participating in the Make It Click Enforcement campaign that will run from May 20-June 2, 2024. Additional Deputies will be working during this time period to enforce seat belt and child restraint violations with the goal of reducing the number of injuries in traffi c accidents from not being restrained.

Celebrate Beef Month with Frontier County Farm Bureau

Frontier County Farm Bureau is excited to celebrate National Beef Month! Frontier County Farm Bureau holds several events and fundraisers throughout the year and is a proud supporter of the local beef producers and the community. On January 18, Frontier County Farm Bureau held a beef and noodle feed fundraiser during the Hi-Line & Medicine Valley basketball game, raising a total of $1,481! The proceeds were split and donated to the Medicine Valley and Eustis-Farnam Beef In Schools program, which assist in supplying local beef for school lunches.
