Farmers, Ranchers Can Make USDA Farm Loan Payments Online

WASHINGTON, Jan. 29, 2024 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced today that most farm loan borrowers will be able to make payments to their direct loans online through the Pay My Loan feature on HYPERLINK “http://www.farmers. gov/” \\t “_blank” farmers. gov in early February. Pay My Loan is part of a broader effort by USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) to streamline its processes, especially for producers who may have limited time during the planting or harvest seasons to visit a local FSA office; modernize and improve customer service; provide additional customer self-service tools; and expand credit access to assist more producers.

Game and Parks to host fly-tying workshops

Anglers can learn the basics of fly tying that will prepare them to catch trout and panfish this spring. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will host fly-tying workshops March 6 and 10 at the Turpin Outdoor Education Center in Lincoln.

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will certify youth fishing instructors at workshops across the state in the coming months. Instructors are part of the Youth Fishing Program, a statewide team of volunteers and Game and Parks staff who host educational fishing events.

UNMC announces 2023 Dean’s List

The University of Nebraska Medical Center has announced its fall 2023 dean’s list for students enrolled in nursing, the allied health professions, pharmacy and dentistry. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must be enrolled for 12 or more hours during the semester and have a grade point average of 3.75 or above.

Arapahoe School Board increases base pay for teachers

ARAPAHOE – During the regular meeting on Monday, February 12, 2024, the schoolboard approved the negotiated agreement with Arapahoe Education Association (AEA) to increase the base pay for teachers by $1,100 to $38,850 for the 2024-2025 school year.
