BEAVER CITY – The city council conducted their regular business in less than one hour on Tuesday, February 20. They approved the fair board’s request for a concert liquor license for Friday, July 20.

Nebraska Sheep & Goat Producers Association and Nebraska Extension are holding a Lambing and Kidding Conference in Curtis Nebraska at the NCTA Livestock Training Center on March 16, 2024. We will be touring Dan Stelik’s lambing facility and others. The program will start with registration at 9:00 am followed by a lambing facility tour. The following programs will be after the tour at the NCTA livestock Teaching Facility: Llama Care/Management by David Baltzell, DVM. Lamb meal and all the fixings Abbey Darheim with Abbey D. Photography demonstrating how to take award winning photographs. The Indianola City Council called the February 19, 2024 meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Michael Hoback from AMGL CPAs & Advisors began by discussing the City of Indianola Financial Statements and Supplementary Information report for the year ended September 30, 2023.

Youth who are sophomores or juniors in high school in a public or private school or who are homeschooled and have an interest in learning about and developing their leadership potential are invited to apply for the Great Plains RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) program.

Beaver City, Nebraska, February 12, 2024 — Furnas County U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) Executive Director Tracy Gaston has announced that agricultural producers can now enroll in the Farm Service Agency’s (FSA) Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC) programs for the 2024 crop year. The deadline to complete enrollment and any election change is March 15, 2024.

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA) is currently accepting applications to attend one of the biggest ag youth outreach events in the state. The Nebraska Agricultural Youth Institute (NAYI) brings together hundreds of high school juniors and seniors for a week to learn more about agriculture, Nebraska’s number one industry.
