Arapahoe Cemetery to continue tree removal

ARAPAHOE - Due to an ash borer infestation, the Arapahoe Cemetery will continue the process of removing the Ash trees, which make up the majority of the trees at the cemetery. The cemetery board’s Dallas Garey said that they’ve removed 15-20 Ash trees over a span of a few years and they’ll need to remove about 30 more.
The Ash trees that line the south side of the drive way at the Arapahoe Cemetery will have to be removed while the Linden trees on the north side will remain.

Former Husker Nick Henrich visits Life Choices group in Oxford

The Life Choices group in Oxford had a special guest on Sunday, February 18 when Nick Henrich came to take part in their weekly meeting. Henrich, Husker football linebacker for five seasons, made the trip to Oxford to speak to the group of mostly high school age students to share his story of faith and the choices he has made this far in his life.

Miller sentenced to 18-20 years for murder plot

LEXINGTON - After pleading guilty to a charge of Attempted First Degree Murder, Valerie Miller, age 41 of Elwood, was sentenced to 1820 years in prison in Dawson County District Court Friday. District Court Judge Patrick Heng gave Miller credit for 507 days of time served.

Omaha Fashion Week’s Spring 2024 season of fashion and audacity kicked off with the future generations of fashion showing nearly 200 creations, featuring high school-age programs from around the state and students in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Textiles, Merchandising, and Fashion Design Program. Omaha Fashion Week is highlighting themes of reckless self-expression during our Spring 2024 Audacious Season. As they focus on fashion-for-good their honor the audacity it takes to use our voices to create meaningful change in our communities.
