AURORA – Lindy Elson of Curtis was surprised to be inducted into the Nebraska Auctioneer Association Auxiliary Hall of Fame on Saturday night during the organization’s annual convention. The long-time member of the NEAA is the first and possibly the last male to receive this honor.

After forty years of answering the call for rescue, Larry Maatsch, an EMT for Cambridge Rescue, has retired. Maatsch says while he will miss the pager at his side, it is also a relief. “It’s on your side 24 hours a day,” he says.
