Village of Bartley celebrates 140 years

Body The Village of Bartley will be celebrating 140 years early this summer. A historical talk will be given at the Bartley Library on May 3, 2026 at 2:00PM. Historian Kevin Mc-Gregor will present a program of history about Bartley and Red Willow County.
The Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture Shoot and Swing tournament was held April 18th at the Curtis Gun Club and Arrowhead Meadows Golf Course. Teams competed in trap shooting and a golf scramble. The team of Sid Schultz, Trae Heathers, and Doug Schultz repeated last years win and took the overall team championship. Funds raised went to the NCTA Rodeo and Shotgun Sports Teams. Pictured are Doug Schultz, Trae Heathers, and Sid Schultz.

Body Area students took advantage of sunshine and planted trees in celebration of Arbor Day Friday. The fourth grade from the Arapahoe/Holbrook Schools met at the Arapahoe City Park to plant a Maple Autumn Blaze tree in celebration of Arbor Day.

Body One Gosper County volunteer was among the many honored at the 2026 Nebraska 4-H Volunteer Awards. Seventeen adult volunteers, nine 4-H members, and five families of volunteers are being recognized with Awards.

Furnas county 4-h carnival

Body The 2026 4-H Carnival was hosted by Silver Spurs and 4-H Workers 4-H Clubs on Saturday, April 18th at the Ella Missing Center in Arapahoe. The public was able to participate in games, earn prizes, jump in the bounce house, and enjoy cake, ice cream, and hot dogs.
